| ICZN's insistence on print
The ICZN rules on publication still insist on publication on paper (ICZN 1999 Recommendation 8B, p.7). This is archaic and needs to be changed. A website such as worldbirdinfo is accessed by hundreds of ornithologists and birdwatchers every day. But this counts for nothing in the eyes of the ICZN. Publication in the most obscure journal, however, does count. | |
