Habitat marine and mainly pelagic;nests on bare lava on Galapagos Islands among boulders, usually on fairly bare areas surrounded by bushes
Breeding "Most eggs laid in May(Apr-June),chicks hatch in July and fledge in Dec."
Birds leave Galapagos January-March,dispersing east to the waters of the Humboldt Current off Ecuador and Peru, mainly between 4°N and 12°S. Immatures probably remain in this area until ready to breed.
